After several months of hard work, many moments of frustration, and even a tear or two…My new, redesigned website is finally LIVE!
Many years ago, my son, Preston, helped me set up a website for my business. He was either still in high school or had just graduated, and he was eager to apply his natural skills in technology that he had nurtured during his time at Henry Ford Academy & as an advanced senior at Henry Ford Community College. He built me a beautiful site and taught me how to edit it so I could add and remove things as my business grew and the needs of my clients and I changed. It worked quite well for a really long time, but I started feeling “itchy” to update the style, then my sister was murdered, the big “P” happened, and I, like so many business owners, hobbled along the best I could.
When I decided to close my massage office and downsize to a single room suite devoted to caring for women during the perinatal period (pre-conception through postpartum), I knew it was the right moment to move forward with a website overhaul. Preston had married in 2023 and moved out to California where his wife, my beautiful “daughter-in-love” lived. They came in for a visit in December 2024 and, in January/February we pulled the plug on my website to begin the long and complex redesign process.
I spent many hours day and late into the night researching and composing the content I wanted my new website to include. Once I had a rough draft of the content and layout, Preston took over to help with the really hard, technical aspects of getting it just right. We spent several more weeks on the finer details until…voila! My website was ready to go live on 4/15/2025, and I took a couple of days to simply absorb what we had accomplished. We came in on the average timeframe for a website overhaul/redesign (according to some web design firms).
Another thing this redesign did for me was reignite my passion for writing. I’ve always loved words – reading and writing them! I started my blog over ten years ago, but never spent much time on it. I did a little bit in the few years that we were all coping with the global issue that touched each of our lives, but not with much intentionality. Now, I am determined to give my blog a much bigger presence in my life and yours. My goal here is to give you an unprecedented look into the my life as a Birth Support Specialist, share the stories from my (also revamped) podcast, and introduce you to credible information about pregnancy and childbirth-related topics.
I hope you enjoy what I share here. Please let me know your thoughts in the comments sections of all my posts 🥰
