“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
I’m Ciana Vaughn, “the other girl”. I’m the youngest of five (one boy and four girls) and the baby that has always wanted a baby.
Growing up I was known as the “baby whisperer” as babysitting was my passion, and I knew I always wanted to start a family of my own. I’m happily married to my best friend and we have two young kiddos (a girl and a boy) that keep us on our toes.
A pivotal and life-changing event was losing my mom at a young age. Not having her around for the birth of my kids showed me that the perinatal period can be both an empowering and vulnerable time, motivating me to be there for birth givers during their time of need.
While trying to conceive, I did a lot of research so that I could be as prepared as possible. What I found is that there’s a lot of conflicting information out there and it’s so hard to sort it all out. When Exie approached me about becoming a doula, I was a combination of nervous and excited, but ultimately, it was the best decision I’ve ever made! The information that I’ve received has been tremendous and I can’t wait to spread all the doula-love to our clients. I’ve always been a “people person” so this is the icing on the cake for me.
In my free time, I love watching DIY videos on social media, attending training sessions to better service my clients, and shopping at Costco.
Hugs, Ciana V.
