A Personal Message from Your Therapist

In today's tough economy, everyone is cutting back on the "extras".  You may have done this too.  No more eating out several times a week, no more gourmet coffee drinks, no more ladies' night out.  This is admirable and unfortunately necessary.

But, have you also thought that you might be cutting back on YOUR HEALTH?

Unfortunately, some people today still view massage as a "luxury"; a pleasant, but unnecessary "extra".

DON'T BELIEVE THAT!

A recent study published in a magazine for psychosomatic illness research stated that having someone touch you in a safe and non-sexual way, like when getting a back rub or massage, can help you lower your blood pressure and maintain a level of mental calmness despite all the stresses we face today.

Other studies have shown that massage therapy can help you combat depression, lessen aches and pains, lower your blood pressure, and enhance your general sense of well-being.  It helps to turn off the "fight or flight" reflex that we develop when undergoing emotional, mental, or physical stress.  Moms who take time to nurture themselves can be better equipped to deal with the stresses of everyday motherhood.  With all the stresses we face today, getting a massage can actually boost your immune system and result in fewer trips to the doctor.

Other benefits can be found on our Benefits of Massage page.

Stress leads to illness

Massage can help boost your immune system and minimize the results of the stress you face

As a working mother, I know how hard it is to find time to take care of yourself; but you deserve it. If you maintain your health and emotional well-being, you will be so much better for those around you. Finding room in your budget for a monthly massage is not selfish because your health is priceless.  You take care of so much, let me take care of you.

Please accept my invitation to contact me so that we can discuss the best treatment for you.
